Hi,
1. You can buy the device separately.
2. You have to buy a separate device.

Eg: A store keeper saying: Sir, we only sell mobile phones. You have to buy the accessories separately.

On contract -- In spite of the change in preposition and Sri's intervening post, I still do not know how a contract relates to a separate purchase.
