Sentential relative clause

Everyone asks me what I want to do for a job and what my next step is, which increases my stress levels, as I simply don't know.

1) The underlined adverbial modifies 'increases', correct?

----------------------

2)Is this version still clear, with the ing clause as a result clause instead of the sentential relative clause?

Everyone asks me what I want to do for a job and what my next step is, increasing my stress levels, as I simply don't know.

3)When do you think it is NOT OK to change a sentential relative clause into an ing clause (if such a question is possible to answer)?

Cheers
