Sentences/complete sentences.

They echo an important principle in that we shouldn’t fear death.

Why isn't this a complete sentence. ?


The children were kind. They gave me a present. (They refering to previous sentence: two sentences separated by a period.)


The themes of the book and it's characters focus is on dying. They echo an important principle in that we shouldn’t fear death.


Our politicians have been pandering again. This demotivates the voters. - Entire sentence as antecedent.
