Sentences should be correct but I have questions for an English speaker

The sentences should be correct but I have questions for an English speaker. Could a native speaker of English help me ease my worries and help answer my questions?

Does one say 'work or plan around one's schedule'?
1 We always plan/work around your schedule. Can you for once plan around mine?

Is 'pushing onto' the correct phrasal verb?
2 She's pushing that cat onto me. [She's forcing me to adopt it]

Which would you say?
3 Who told you about this restaurant/introduced you to this restaurant?

Is the following correctly written?
4 He had a gun while doing his rounds for the neighborhood watch. How can you be allowed to have a gun on a self volunteer program?

Which is the correct word?
5 The door is too big for its jamb/frame. It won't fit in the door. We need to plane it.

Is 'from' necessary and does it add to the meaning?
6 Where did you get that [from]?

Is 'write up' the correct term?
7 This was written up as the best fashion accessory of the year in this magazine.

Is it correct to 'hold someone to their reaction'?
8 You can't hold a drunk person to their reaction.

How would one write the following?
9 This camera is fancier than its simplicity. Looking at it, you would think it was harder to work it.

I've heard something like 'play it wide'
10 You said you'd be here in 1 hour. I played it wide do that I wouldn't be late.

Is it natural to say 'are to specification'?
11 The wax sculptures of all the movie stars are to specification. They are as tall as the real person.

Is it correct to 'become privy'?
12 How do you become privy to that sort of information?

Is this question and answer correct?
13 Do you even know what are sources of protein? Potatoes are a source of protein.
