Sentences on reading

I'd be grateful if you check the acceptability in English of the

following lines. Thank you.

"One thing we can say about reading is that if you don't

practice it, it remains a difficult task.

It's more or less what happens with every sort of activity.

The more you practice it, the easier it is to get good results.

Think of recorder playing!" (It's the instrument that is played at

"practice" is correct in AmE. In BrE it would be "practise". Not sure which one you want.
