Sentences Nov 27

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. You have to choose coins from either or both the groups. ( there are two groups of coins – pennies and nickels)

2. And we take turns at it.

3. If you want to take both types of coins you have to take an equal number from both the groups.

Thanks,

MG.

A native speaker told me that 'both the groups' is not necessary, 'both groups' is enough. Is that correct grammatically?

Hi,

Yes, it is.

Note, however, that it's not unusual for us to say things that are not necessary.
