Hi,

Are the following sentences correct?

1. What happening was my computer was trying to save a file that was read-only.

What happened was that he never reached the final stage of the race

Thanks,

MG.

Do you want to say this, or write it? If you want to write it, just delete "What happened" from the first and "What happened was that" from the second. As speech, this sounds very normal.

B: What happened? You want to know what happened?! What happened was first... then... and just to top it all off, my computer...! THAT is what happened!

Then there's my favorite "What it is, is..."
