Sentences Feb 11

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. Oh, I totally forgot to tell you for which I had come by your desk.

2. The thing, which I came here to tell you about, was different.

3. You have three such ropes to burn and time 45 minutes with that. (I am trying to say that the listener has to measure a time of 45 minutes by burning those ropes one after another)

Thanks,

MG.

OK.
There are various ways to formulate the puzzle depending on whether you want the answer to be 3, 15, or 45.

"time 45 minutes" doesn't work. You'll need to say something like "measure 45 minutes of time" or just "45 minutes".
