Sentences Dec 24

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to native ear?

1. I have put some water on the stove to boil.

2. Don't cut too much below on the packet or you will cut the contents inside. ( I am telling this a person who is cutting open a package with a pair of scissors).

3. Where was the last olympics held?

Thanks,

MG.

They sound natural to me. I believe "Olympics" should be capitalized. " It would be difficult for a native speaker to compose these instructions in one sentence, unless there is prior context.

If you were giving me your scissors instructions over the phone, I might say, "What the heck are you talking about?"

Here the person was right in front of him. Given the situation, how would you say that?
