Sentences correction

Could anybody correct this five sentences for me?

(1) Environment/ Environmental protection is the responsibility of everyone.
(2) We should learn from highly-developed countried, like Japan, America, Britain, New Zealand and so on for their ways and spirit of environment/environmental protection.(I think there are other or better words for environment/environmental protection)
(3) We should teach the public about environment/environmental protection.
(4) Encourage our citizens using environmental friendly bags instead of plastic bags.
(5) Enrourage planting as it will decrease carbon dioxide and toxic gas.
