Are the following sentences correct?

1.There was a break in last night, and the culprit stole a few bikes from the bike shed. The culprit used a fireman key to open the pedestrian gate and made his way to the bike shed, while his accomplice was waiting for him outside the development.

2. The culprit attempted to open the door but to no avail, and then he left. On his second attempt, he walked through the courtyard and went to the side of the bike shed. He spent a few minutes getting the wooden frames out so that he could get into the bike shed.

3. He got in and took a bike with him while leaving. On his third attempt, he accomplice joined him, and they took another bike. The crime has been reported to the police, and CCTV footage will pass on to them so that the can carry out an investigation.

4. Please ensure that your bike is always locked.
