The first is fine, except for the typo of the missing "Y" in "you."

"Benefit" means to receive something positive, so it can't be used in the transitive manner you have here. "Rise" is intransitive. "Raise" is a possible substitute. The world for there being rivals, is "rivalry." So: "He shouldn't favor some employees over others because that would raise rivalry."
