He is such an uptight person. He didin’t want to sit with us on the grassbecause he was afraid of staining his pants.

GPYBe sure you do not mean "wearing a red dress".I've looked it up and the dictionary said that it meant "put on an item of clothing" Maybe I don't get 100% the difference between donning and wearing :/ So is donning the action of dressing yourself and wearing when you are already dressed?
