Sentence/Paragraph Help

Is correct I have one paragraph that has only one sentence and this sentence starts with "But" ??

My sentence:
But one thing stilled in my mind: "I am going to the birthplace of soccer."

Then say

But one thing is still on my mind: "I am going to the birthplace of soccer."
