Sentence Wording

These are the words of Elliot Hansen, whose J.S. Karling Graduate Research Award should give him some credibility with you.

Hi, is there a more professional way to say this?

Give/Lend him some credibility

should (I hope) give him some

Research Award I hope should give him some

I say "I hope" … I don't want to sound too big or arrogant like its a very prestigous thing.

How would you say this?

Good bye, thank you.

Yes, thank you and I apologize.

This is my sentence: "These are the words of Elliot Hansen, whose J.S. Karling Graduate Research Award should give him some credibility with you."

I'm only concerned about the "… whose J.S. Karling Graduate Research Award should give him some credibility with you" part. Or even more specifically the "should give him some credibility with you" part

Samir1I was debating between the words "give" and "lend."
Use 'give', and use 'for', not 'with'.
Samir1I was also concerned the way it's phrased comes off as name-dropping or arrogant.
There is no way of judging that without the full context of your conversation. As it stands alone, it is inoffensive.

This is for a professional cover letter. Before this sentence, I quote something quite complimentary that this person said of me. Then I begin next sentence "These are the words of …"

Samir1This is for a professional cover letter.
I see nothing ostensibly offensive in your remark, but on the other hand, I see no reason for the compliment or the remark to be included in a cover letter. either.
