Is this sentence worded in the correct way to make it clear that the 'them' refers to Gerard and the Solamnics? FYI- Mina and her followers are the evil army.
Gerard joined the Solamnic forces that battled the evil army, but by using the souls of the dead, Mina and her followers defeated them and conquered Solanthus.
