Sentence with because twice

Is this sentence devoid of errors and awkwardness? If not, could you please help me? Thanks in advance.

How do you create such a video? I'm asking because I have never made a video because I don't own a video recorder.

It's not wrong, but it's awkward. Do you want to try to improve it? One way is to use two sentences instead of one.

Original: How do you create such a video? I'm asking because I have never made a video because I don't own a video recorder

Attempt: How do you create such a video? I'm asking because I have never made a video. I don't own a video recorder

Removing the second because makes it unclear as to whether or not that is the reason I have never made a video. You can assume, but not know f

Yes, But when we speak, we commonly expect the listener to make reasonable assumptions and small leaps in logic.

If you wanted to make it a little clearer, you could change the final sentence to say 'I have never owned a video recorder'.
