Sentence Verification.

I was discussing a certain song by the beatles with a friend when he said,

".. that song strikes as a perfect reflection on my life."

What he was trying to say was that he could identify with the lyrics of the song, but the sentence above doesn't really seem right. Or is it fine?

I would like to hear your opinion on it.

Thanks.

"That song strikes me as a perfect reflection of my life" would be idiomatic in your example. When we look in the mirror, we see "a mirror image," hopefully a perfect reflection. We also have the meaning as in "reflections on immortality," which could be a collection of thoughts and ideas about a subject.

  • "That song strikes me as a perfect reflection of my life" would be idiomatic in your example.
  • When we look in the mirror, we see "a mirror image," hopefully a perfect reflection.
  • We also have the meaning as in "reflections on immortality," which could be a collection of thoughts and ideas about a subject.
  • That is, one reflection would perhaps be only one thought among many.
  • I suppose either "of" or "on" could be used, depending on the writer's intention.

He is saying that listening to the song is like looking in the mirror and visualizing his life.

Song lyrics used to mean something. Songs that remind you of first date, songs that made you sad, songs of romance and songs that reflect our lives. It's a shame that some of the "noise" and tr

Avangi,

Speak for yourself. Speaking of the curse, that reminds me of the Beatle's hit "When I'm 64" in the 60's which I loved even though I didn't know English then (I was only a kid then and our neighbor always had the radio blasting on an English station, I loved the melody!). Well, I prefer to call it "experienced" an
