Sentence tense form

Is there any difference between these:

Last night, I had a dream of you.

Is the use of 'had' in the first sentence correct, and are they both in the simple past form?

Thanks.

The past tenses are both correct. about is more natural that of in this case. Of would be more appropriate in something like "I dream of world peace".

In my opinion dreamed is more likely to de
