Sentence Subject

Hi, I was just wondering if there is any need to say where their footsteps echoed through if I specify that they are in "a structure" in the preceding sentence?

They soon arrived at a structure, and she invited him in with her hand. He noticed the faint, yet sharp smell of bleach, and how their footsteps echoed through the building.
