Sentence structure/wording

I want to saying that 'this weekend I am going to Los angles to meet up with friends'. How can I say that in a better way? Is my sentence correct? How about: this weekend I am going to meet up with friends in Los angeles.

Please do the necessary corrections and provide additional ways of saying this if you think my sentences are not good.

As long as you capitalize the A in Los Angeles, and also capitalize the first letter of your sentence, you can say it either way with no difference in meaning. Some people will suggest adding a comma after the introductory phrase "This weekend" (I would probably put one) but it's clear enough without it, so your choice again. Note that "meet up with" suggests to me that your friends don't live there either.
