Sentence structure/sequence question.

Hello,
Could you have a look at the sentence below and correct it in case there are any grammatical errors?

-Money laundering is a criminal activity to make it seem that the money that you obtained as a result of that criminal activity you obtained legally.

My concern is whether or not this sentence is perhaps missing something or that there is wrong sequence of words, particularly the last three ones.
Moreover, can you think of any alternative way of saying 'make it seem' ?
