Sentence structure in today´s NYT.

I was reading an article in today´s NYT written by Nicholas Kristof and came across this sentence: "The great divide is not between faiths. Rather it is between terrorists and moderates, between those who are tolerant and those who “otherize.”" Wouldn't it be best to use a semi colon after the worth faiths_ and before the word _rather?
