Sentence Structure, fragments

Can you please help me? I want to make sure that these sentences are correct.

"i wanted to send you a reply a few days back but i just couldn't find the right words to say, and how to put all of my feelings and thoughts in writing. "

--->> i'm not sure if this part (and how to put all of my feelings and thoughts in writing) is gramatically and structurally correct, with regards to the overall construction of the sentence. should i put a verb on that part? i mean, i often have errors with something called "FRAGMENTATION" i don't really understand what it is. how do i make a sentence NOT FRAGMENTED and ensure a continuous flow of thought without any grammar/structure flaws?

"they were still very much together, sharing the same room, sleeping on the same bed, acting like and doing what they have always been as a couple. "

-->> the part "Acting like and doing what they have always been as a couple" doesn't sound correct. i think there is something missing, i'm not confident what it is. i want to retain the same structure. but i want to make it error-free.

THANKS A LOT....

I have never really understood what the fragmented error means either. Honestly I find it quite hard to correct that bolded sentence. Maybe it's because 'how to put all of my feelings and thoughts in writings' sounds like a potential question, except here it is not.
