Sentence structure analysis

The film won four Oscars , the most of the evening, in what amounted to a historic upset of the Hollywood elite.

I In the above sentence, i have two questions. 1. Why no preposition is added before time adverbial "evening"? 2 . What is the grammatical role of " in what amounted to a historic upset of the Hollywood elite.".

Evening is a noun. It is the complement (object) of the preposition "of".

The sentence must be read this way. There are a lot of words that are omitted. They are not necessary.

"The evening" is preceded by the preposition "of".

Incidentally, the underlined element, a preposition phrase, is an adjunct, probably a locative one.

i don't catch it , why it is not "in the most of the evening'? Anyone helps me paraphrase "in what amounted to a historic upset of the Hollywood elite."?
