Sentence structure.

Is the sentence formation and structure of the following, correct?
2 knows that 1 would shout if 2 and 3 were to have the same coloured hat. If 2 and 3 both had white hats, 1 would've been the one to shout first saying "black" and if 2 and 3 both had black hats, 1 would've shouted "white" in the first place.
Now since 1 was not the one to shout first even after knowing the colours of the hats that 2 and 3 were wearing, 2 realised that 2 and 3 are not wearing the same coloured hat. 2 cannot look up to see which coloured hat he's wearing but he knows the colour of the hat worn by 3. So he is the one who shouts first saying the colour opposite to what 3 was wearing.

Hello Rakshit Sinha. I think it should be: 2 knows that 1 would shout if 2 and 3 had hats the same colour. If 2 and 3 both had had white hats, 1 would've shouted "black", and if 2 and 3 both had had black hats,1 would've shouted "white".

  • Hello Rakshit Sinha.
  • I think it should be: 2 knows that 1 would shout if 2 and 3 had hats the same colour.
  • If 2 and 3 both had had white hats, 1 would've shouted "black", and if 2 and 3 both had had black hats,1 would've shouted "white".
  • Now since 1 hasn't shouted even after seeing the colours of the hats that 2 and 3 were wearing, 2 realises that 2 and 3 are not wearing hats of the same colour.
  • 2 cannot look up to see the colour of the hat he's wearing, but he knows the colour of the hat worn by 3.

Thomas TompionYou start using the present tense, but then shift, in places, into the past. I've put it into the present, but I could have put it into the past. You should be consistent, and not use the past in some places and the present in others, in this sort of explanation.
Thank you so much Thomas Tompion for taking the efforts to write the entire paragrap
