Sentence structure

I want to use the sentence structure that 2 actions happen at the same time but I dont want to use " whlie"

for example:" she listens to the music, singing her favourite song"

the structure :" smb do smt, doing smt " to imply 2 actions happen at the same time, is it right ?

Hello, matmeomun—and welcome to English Forums. I cannot say that your stucture is always right, but it often is, yes. Can you post a specific sentence that you want to use?

more example : " I go to the shop, singing my favorite song" I mean " whlie I go to the shop, I sing " the action "go to the shop" and "sing" happen at the same time. But somtimes, I dont want to use " while". Can I use the sentence structure : " somebody do something, doing something ?

I go to the shop, singing my favorite song-- This is OK.

Can I use the sentence structure : " somebody do some- As I said before, I cannot guarantee that the structure always means the 2 actions happen at the same time. Consider this one:

I arrived late, forgetting my briefcase at home.

ok, I got it, thank u very very much Emotion: whisper
