I found the underlined parts above emumerate ideas connecting to 'when parts of the mind.'

I don't know why the writer didn't take out are in 'are charged~' while are is taken out in 'following~.'

So when you read the structure, you can read the writer's intent but it's a little difficult to catch at once? That's why it's better to say '~~ such as littening ~~ of trees' like you said?
