Sentence Structure

Hello,

Would you please verify the following sentences are grammatically correct?

(1) In SAP2.1, we have made a few changes that would require SAP2.1 application to talk with User database.

(2) In SAP2.1, we have made a few changes that require SAP2.1 application to talk with User database.

I would put a the before SAP and User, and I much prefer #2, as I presume the changes have been completed and do in fact require the communication between the application and the database.
