Sentence stress question?
if you have to work on it If I stressed WORK and IT, would that make it different from stressing only IT or WORK? Would that convey another meaning to the listener?

Mercyful_fate ... would that make it different from stressing only IT or WORK? Would that convey another meaning to the listener?It's rare to stress "it". I don't think I ever do. Stressing "it" is a way of emphasizing whatever "it" refers to. Other than a difference in emphasis, the meaning is the same as when you don't stress "it".
