Sentence Slots

"Ordering a cheese pizza."

I know that this is a fragment, but what does it have to do with sentence slots?

Hi

I think you need to tell us what a sentence slot is

The fragment that you give us can be used in an intentional sentence:

- Know what scares me right now, ordering a cheese pizza

The fragment completes the sentence, because it becomes the object of 'know'

Beyond that, I'm not sure what's meant by a sentence slot

"Sentence slots" is a very non-standard term. It may be a simplified way of saying something else which is standard.

Please give us some examples of sentence slots so that we can take a guess at the correct terminology.
