Sentence questions

I made some sentences, but I am not sure whether they are right or not.
If you find something wrong in Grammar or vocabulary, help me check them.

1.Artists design a variety of earthenware, traditional Chinese swords, and artifacts.



2.Artists designed ceramics with their creativity by shaping and heating clay.

3.Because the majority of people benefit from scientist more than artists, I believe the accomplishments of scientist are superior to artists’ in my society.

I agree with 3 & 4, however:

1. Since chinese swords are not earthenware I believe the correct interpretation should be the original sentence:

Artists design a variety of earthenware, traditional Chinese swords, and artifacts.

(or 'Artists design a variety of work/items/pieces including earthenware, traditional Chinese swords, and artifacts')

We could benefit from a little context for these sentences. (But that is almost always the case.)

I don't particularly like the choice of the word 'design', which traditionally tends, in its verb form, to mean: 'to organize, to compose, and/or to draw'.

My suggestions for 1-3:
