Sentence qiestions

Hello, 

I am not sure whether six sentences make sense in term of grammar and semantics. 
Can you give me a hand with checking them 
Thank you for your help.




1. The mode of economic developments of human beings encompasses several phases from agriculture and industry to high technology.



2.  The bourgeoning economic developments, people gradually get of out poverty and enjoy good material life. 



3. What motivates me to do my job is not for how much money I can earn but for how many new things I can learn. For this reason, no matter what job I perform, a wage, bonus, or salary isn’t taken into first consideration.



4. Some people have the root stereotype that a high-paying job can be a sign of success, but I think what I pick up from a job outweighs how much money I make. 



5. It is broadcasting classical music that creates a pleasant atmosphere in which to calm my stressful emotion, enabling me to concentrate on my books. 



6. Whenever faced with sticky problems, I try to listen to different kinds of music. Music’ songs or melodies have both denotative and connotative meaning which not only deal with my anxious mood but also find the way to sort these problems out.

6. Whenever faced with sticky problems, I try to listen to different kinds of music. Music, in all its forms, has both denotative and connotative (I suggest you explain your meaning with these two adjectives more) meaning which not only calms my anxiety but also helps me to resolve my problems.

(Number 6 was the trickiest for me.)

Would you please clarify my following doubts?

(1) In sentence #1, what is the purpose of having a comma after "several phrases"? What would be the meaning of the sentence if this comma is removed?

(2) Can I rewrite sentence #5 as below?

(3) In sentence #6, Can I use 'try to listen different kinds of music' instead of 'try to listen to different kinds of music'?

Hi Krish,

(1) In sentence #1, what is the purpose of having a comma after "several phases"? What would be the meaning of the sentence if this comma is removed? I added a comma because the phrase that followed 'phases' was so long. Also, I felt that, without the comma, there might be confusion that perhaps these phases were phases from agriculture and industry, ie agricultural and industrial phases. I wouldn't argue that a comma is stricly necessary, but I feel it's a good idea here.

(2) Can I rewrite sentence #5 as below?

Broadcasts of classical music create a pleasant atmosphere that calms my stressful emotions, enabling me to concentrate on my books. Yes, sounds fine to me, better than what I wrote.

(3) In sentence #6, Can I use 'try to listen different kinds of music' instead of 'try to listen to different kinds of music'? No, never. You can never 'listen something'.
