Sentence Position

Hi teachers,

The modal would in questions with the subject pronoun you and the verb like, asks for a preference or desire to someone in doing something in the present or future.

Is it the position "to someone" in its right place according to the sentence?

thanks in advance

Is it like this?

I quite don't understand why I have to use "on the part of someone" instead of "to someone"

could you please

You don't; I gave you three options. However, 'to' is plainly the wrong preposition; the desire or preference is held by the speaker, not the listener.

Thanks for the explanation and the options.

Then, can it be wrritten like this?

The modal would in questions with the subject pronoun you and the verb like asks for a preference or desire on someone in doing something in the present or future.

I did not give you 'on' as a choice.

Sorry Mister Micawber, I just thought the phrase could be shorter.

I was absolutely wrong.

Thanks once again.

Yes, that's good. Now I see what you're looking for. I think I was confused before. Still no 'to', though.
