I would like you to judge the following sentences are acceptable or not.

(1)I forced Sam’s proposal to be rejected by the committee.

(2)I forced the earthquake to destroy the city.

(3)I forced the election to be a landslide. (Soames and Perlmutter 1979:469)

(4)They forced it to rain.

(5)They forced to better care to be taken of the orphans by passing new laws.
