sentence pairs

Hi!

Would love if someone could take a look at these sentence pairs and tell me if I am going about it the right way.

S V -----dO------------------
1 a I know that you just had to eat.
S V -----dO------------------
b I know what you just had to eat.
finite sub. Clauses with SVdO monotransitive clause pattern. The difference is the direct object. The direct object in 1a is realized by a that-clause while the direct object in 1b is realized by a nominal relative clause. is this right?

A S V --------iO------- dO
2 a Honestly, I find it very difficult to talk to her.
S V
b I find it very difficult to talk honestly to her.

I am having a major problem with this one

S ----- V ----- ----- dO-----
3 a She stopped looking for a way out.
S -----V----- -----dO-----
b She stopped to look for a way out.
both are non-finite sub. Clauses that have the same SVdO clause pattern. The differences between them is the form of their verbal, right?
S V dO ---- A----------------
4 a She asked him when the bus arrived.
S V dO ---- A----------------
b She saw him when the bus arrived.
is it right to say the adverbial in 4a is functioning as an indirect question while 4b is an adverbial clause?

S V ---- dO ---- Op----------------
5 a He built a house that was impressive.
S V ---dO-- --------A----------------
b He built a house, which was impressive.
so in 5a we have that-clause functioning as oP while adverbial is a sentential relative clause refering to the whole clause?

I think the main point here is not the particular grammatical structure of each sentence, but rather, that in each of the five pairs of sentences, the sentences look similar but have different meanings. 1a means the speaker is aware that the listener was recently required to eat. Or, that the listener could not prevent himself from eating recently.

  • 1b means the speaker has knowledge of what the listener has just consumed.
  • 2a means the speaker is saying that he is confessing truthfully that he finds it difficult to talk to her.
