Sentence Meaning

I edited a sentence based on some advice I got on this forum, however, I'm now wondering if it still slightly implies that instruments aren't alive unless they are used by people? Or does it suggest that people can bring them to life and they make music of their own accord? Basically, the initial issue was that if they are alive, they can't be used.

Original sentence where the idea of tools clashed with them being alive: "There was something magical, I thought, in the way that instruments could be brought to life, and used as tools to create music."

Edited sentence: "There was something magical, I thought, in the way that instruments could be brought to life to create music."

You are recalling “Brought to Life” on July 2, when AlpheccaStars provided six suggestions and Clive summed it up with the edited sentence you are now using. He identified that you are ‘personifying’ the instrument—making it a living thing. Once this genie is released from its bottle, do you want to step out of the picture and let it do its own thing?
