Sentence meaning?

Hi! everyone Could you help me understand this sentence?
(Anonymous asked to some body who is going to be a king)-If you weren't destined to become king of the world ,what career path would you follow or what will you do in the meantime before you will no longer have that chance?
What does the last coloured line mean? I know the meaning of "in the meantime" I don't know ,which chance he is asking about?
Thanks!

The language seems confused. " But it already says you don't have that chance. If it means "the chance to follow a particular career path," then the wording is wrong.

The language seems confused. It looks like "the chance" would be "the chance to become king of the world." But it already says you don't have that chance. If it means "the chance to follow a particular career path," then the wording is wrong.

If he's "destined to become king of the world," he's not in danger of losing that chance. I understood the sentence to mean that once he is king of the world, he will have responsibilities that prevent him from doing something he might actually prefer to do . Maybe before he becomes king, he would really like to be a circus clown for a while, while he still has that chance.
