Are these sentences correct?

You look great as ever
Looking great as ever.

Specifically, does it have to be 'as great as ever', or is also 'great as ever' without the first 'as' possible?

I think "You look great as ever" could be interpreted as a shortened form of "You look as great as ever" or as a non-optimally-punctuated version of "You look great, as ever". In speech it would be clear which was intended.
