sentence inquiry

I would like to know if both of these are correct:

I have begun a new stream and included John and Ashtin.
I have begun a new stream to include John and Ashtin.

Specifically, are both 'and included and to include' correct?

Thanks.

Only #2 makes it clear that the inclusion was the purpose of beginning the new stream. #1 just says 'I have done two things'. Clive

Thank you. But grammatically speaking, both sentences are correct, right?
