Sentence inquiry

Which expression is the correct one grammatically:

My parents thought when I grow up I will eat up the fridge.

My parents thought when I grow up I will be eating up the fridge.

Please comment specifically on the use of 'will eat and will be eating'.

Thank you.

Hi I think it is the second. Your parents weren't worried that you would do it once and then it would be over. They were worried that it would happen over and again - a continuous process.

I think it is the second. Your parents weren't worried that you would do it once and then it would be over. They were worried that it would happen over and again - a continuous process. So the tense to use is the future continuous: I will be eating up the fridge

I will visit this restaurant often.

I will be visiting this restaurant often.

Specifically the use of the future continuous tense in the second. But what impact does the word often have?

It is my firm intention to visit this restaurant again and again.
AnonymousI will be visiting this restaurant often.
I can just imagine myself enjoying being at this restaurant again and again.

Thank you very much for your amazing explanation. Just curious, can''t I change grew to grow, as in as I grow up. Or, does this just not work because the entire sentence needs to be in the past form. I don't feel that the word grow affects the sentence, just asking?

Also, if I want to write the same sentence in the present form, would this be correct:
My parents think that as I grow u
