Sentence from Twilight

My wife and I are having an argument about a sentence in her book. Please tell us if theres anything wrong with this sentence:

"I cleaned the house, got ahead on my homework, and wrote my mom more bogusly cheerful e-mail."

Seems OK to me.

'Bogusly' is rather slangy, but that's OK.

I don't usually see a hyphen in 'email'.
