Top answer

I think your sentence will be correct if you replace your "1962, since which she has lived in North London" with either "B" or "C". Thus, Born of lbuza parents in Nigeria, novelist Buchi Emecheta moved to England in 1962 and has lived since then in North London" or "Born of lbuza parents in Nigeria, novelist Buchi Emecheta moved to England in 1962, since then she has lived in North London" But I wouldn't use the 'present perfect tense' in that sentence if the novelist has died. I wouldn't say 'has lived' if she is dead already.

The answer is B.

C is not possible because it is a comma-splice error. These would fix C:

C1) 1962, and since then she has lived in North London
C2) 1962; since then she has lived in North London

OK, I see. Many thanks to you, Mister Micawber, for correcting me. It was my mistake to focus on the tenses only.

Thank you for the reply Emotion: smile. My answer key matches with B, but I thought the answer should have been D, that is,

Born of Ib

'Since then' is a span of time from1962 until the present, so it requires the present perfect, not the simple past:

...moved to England in 1962 and has lived since then in North London.
