Sentence difference

Is there any difference between these or do they basically mean the same?

Make sure you don't eat when you are running.
Make sure you don't eat when you run.

Stop talking when you eat.
Stop talking when you are eating.

The two forms seem to mean the same to me, but please confirm.

Thanks, but you used the 'ing' form in the first one and not in the second one. Which of my examples are correct please?
