Sentence correctness

Hi

I have a question on this sentence.

It (a particular technology) is applied in a wide range of applications that include medical diagnosis, GIS, and relational database/medical diagnosis, GIS, relational database among others.

I would like to know if either is OK.

"that include ... relational database" is wrong. At minimum it should be "relational databases", but it may read better if you can think of another

How is it used in relational databases? You should be more specific.
