I have a question with the following sentence:
The school is within a hundred yards from my house.
Can we omit "within"?
The original sentence is not correct. You can say: 1. The school is within a hundred yards of my house.

1. The school is within a hundred yards of my house.
2. The school is a hundred yards from my house.
Strictly speaking (1) means not more than 100 yards, while (2) means exactly 100 yards (within normal limits of accuracy), but in practice (1) would often be used to mean about the same as (2)
