sentence correctness

Please tell me if this is OK.

Science is observing,studying and experimenting to learn how things in the universe work,thereby expanding our mind's horizons.

There are two spacing errors. I expect you can spot them. Otherwise the sentence is acceptable, but stylistically it is not the greatest sentence ever written, in my opinion.

Sorry, another thing I forgot ...

Since we each have our own mind, I think "our minds' horizons" would be more logical.
