Sentence corrections

Hi.

How would you write these? Could a person take out quotation marks on no. 2? I think he/she can. I am puzzled or confused by the use of apostrophes in nos 1 and 3. For no. 2, it could be any well-known search engine besides Google ( I think Google is a search engine)>

I am puzzled or confused by the use of apostrophes in nos 1 and 3. Omit them.

Would you say that this combination of the two modals "could" and "can" in my sentence incorrect or awkward in structure?I didn't even notice it. I suppose it's better to be comsistent, eg can/can, or just say 'I think so', to avoid repetition.
