Sentence correction needed!!
Research on ‘_____being carried out by __ research group has grabbed my attention & if given the opportunity, I feel I will be able to contribute to such projects.

Hi Ankiz I'd begin with the word "The". I would use the word "and", not "&". The use of "will" may suggest to the reader that someone has already told you that there is a very good chance of your being given the opportunity to contribute.
