Hello,Could you please tell me if the underlined fragments are correct?1) African American culture has been repressed since the slavery times because it was different from European standards. Ignorance gave a forum for misconceptions to be spread, and people became prejudiced against the differences the other culture introduced.I would keep the tenses except for 'was' which I'd change into 'is/has been'2) Some people might not know how to change feelings which were nurtured.I think 'have been nurtured' would be more appropriate.Thanks for your help.

"Since the slavery times" is a bit off. Maybe "since the days of slavery".

Yes, "is" would be better.

Ignorance didn't do anything to do with a forum.

"People" is way too vague.

To say that they became or grew prejudiced rather poisons the well.

I don't think they introduced differences. That would mean that the differences became part of the European culture, and in that case they could not be excluded from it.
